Experience
I have always had troubles with spelling. I remember having close to failing grades on my spelling assessments in elementary school. Thankfully, due to diligence and the will to surpass my spelling deficits, I can now successfully say that I have overcome my spelling challenges. Many of my elementary school teachers would be surprised and amazed to know that I currently am in the process of acquiring my PhD in Latin and Greek. I have also taught a number of courses and classes on the English language. I have taught at the City University of New York for the past four years. During these years, I spent time tutoring students in English, Latin, and Greek. My teaching philosophy is quite simple. I believe in pushing my students to be self-learners. To do this, I like to base my lessons on their own interests. Not only does this keep the students motivated and interested in what they're learning, but it is also quite fun and a creative way to teach. Beyond teaching English, Greek, and Latin, I also teach literature. Writing plays a large part in my classes. I enjoy sitting down and having an open conversation with my students about the writing process and which areas they need to improve in. I am passionate and dedicated, and I have a true love for teaching.
